Description
Carbodiam diamond drills are the coring tools in the Belgian manufacturer’s drilling programme: segmented diamond core bits, small-diameter bits, bits for tiles and ceramics, dry core bits for electricians and modular mining tubes. They are made in Carbodiam’s own production centre for wet and dry drilling in concrete, reinforced concrete, masonry, natural stone and ceramic materials.
The segmented core bits are organised into four lines by the intensity of the work and the machine that drives them. Rocket Line is built for very intensive drilling in the hardest and most heavily reinforced materials on high-powered, floor-mounted core drills. Score is the professional line for light core drills. Speedor is made for lightweight construction materials and hand-held drilling, and Falcor is the dry-drilling line for micro-percussion core drills.
Behind those lines sits a choice of segment profiles, each designed for a combination of material, aggregate and machine power. Segment shape, height and fixing method determine how quickly a bit starts, how fast it drills and how long it lasts, so Carbodiam offers faster-cutting versions for low-power drills and long-life versions for high-power drills.
Diameters and lengths can be customised, and refills are available for selected core bits. Core drills, drill stands and water supply equipment are separate products.
Key Features and Benefits
Core bit lines graded by duty
Each line answers a different working pattern. Rocket Line suits contractors coring reinforced slabs and walls day after day on rig-mounted machines; Score covers professional drilling with lighter core drills; Speedor gives speed in softer building materials; Falcor brings dry coring to micro-percussion machines. Choosing the line first narrows the bit to the machine and the workload.
Segment profiles for reinforced concrete
Carbodiam’s segment profiles include continuous-rim, turbo-start, notched and quick-start designs. Several are self-sharpening, and some are designed for increased drilling speed and lower lateral friction. Most are specified for heavily reinforced concrete, with profiles also covering hard stone, abrasive aggregates, deep drilling, concrete blocks and masonry.
Fast and long-life versions
Segment specifications are matched to the core drill. Fast versions are intended for low-power core drills and long-life versions for high-power core drills, with extra-fast and extra-long-life options in selected profiles for heavily reinforced concrete and abrasive aggregates.
Laser-welded and brazed construction
Segments are laser-welded or brazed to the bit body, depending on the line and profile. Score and Falcor bits are laser-welded; several segment profiles are offered in both brazed and laser-welded versions.
Dry drilling with better dust extraction
Falcor bits are designed for dry coring with micro-percussion core drills, with improved dust extraction and cooling. Electricians’ bits are ventilated for dry drilling, and one version adds a top dust extraction connection for cleaner work indoors.
Made to the job
Carbodiam manufactures core bits to customer requirements, including non-standard diameters and lengths. Refills are available for Rocket Line bits, so a worn crown can be renewed on the existing body.
Applications and Use Cases
Carbodiam diamond drills are used for:
- Openings in reinforced concrete: coring holes through slabs and walls for pipes, ducts and services, including heavily reinforced concrete.
- Masonry and building materials: drilling brick, concrete blocks, hollow blocks and lightweight construction materials.
- Natural and hard stone: coring granite and hard stone with suitable segment profiles.
- Tiles and ceramics: precise dry holes in tiles, porcelain stoneware and natural stone with small-diameter bits.
- Electrical installations: dry drilling for socket boxes and cable or conduit passages in concrete and building materials.
- Deep and continuous drilling: modular wet core drilling with mining tubes, where diameters and lengths are made to suit the job.
Not every line or profile suits every material. The bit is chosen by the material, the reinforcement, the core drill and whether the work is wet or dry.

Other drilling tools in the range:
- Small-diameter core bits: crowned bits from 10 to 40 mm for very hard materials, and segmented bits from 28 to 40 mm with 1/2″ or 5/4″ connections.
- Tile and ceramic drills: M14 bits for angle grinders, designed for clean dry drilling, and hexagonal-shank bits for drills and screwdrivers, for tiles, porcelain stoneware and natural stone.
- Electricians’ drills: M16 bits for dry drilling, in 70 mm and 160 mm lengths, with a version offering top dust extraction.
- Mining tubes: modular wet core drilling tubes with a 5/4″ connection, made in the diameter and length the job requires.
Core bits are made with 5/4″ and 1/2″ connections depending on the line and diameter, and adapters and extensions are available. When selecting a Carbodiam drill, consider:
- the material, its aggregate and the amount of reinforcement
- the core drill, its power and whether it is hand-held or rig-mounted
- wet or dry drilling, and the dust extraction available
- the hole diameter, drilling depth and connection
- whether faster drilling or longer bit life matters more

Buy Diamond Drills from Global Source Middle East
On a coring job, the bit decides how fast each hole goes through and how many holes the crown delivers before it is worn. Carbodiam’s line and segment structure lets the bit be matched to the material and the machine instead of being chosen by diameter alone.
Global Source Middle East supplies Carbodiam diamond drills to drilling contractors, MEP installers and construction teams across the UAE. Tell us the material, the hole diameters and depths, and the core drill you work with, and our team will prepare a quotation for the right bits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Carbodiam core bit line suits heavily reinforced concrete?
Rocket Line is designed for very intensive use in the hardest and heavily reinforced materials on high-powered, floor-mounted core drills. The segment profile is then chosen for the aggregate and the drill’s power.
Can Carbodiam core bits be used for dry drilling?
Yes, with the right bit. Falcor is the dry-drilling line for micro-percussion core drills, and the electricians’ drills and M14 tile drills are designed for dry use. The segment profiles listed above are specified for wet drilling.
What is the difference between fast and long-life segments?
Fast versions are intended for low-power core drills, where cutting speed matters most. Long-life versions are intended for high-power core drills, where the segment can be made to last longer.
Can I order a non-standard diameter or length?
Yes. Carbodiam manufactures core bits to customer requirements, including special diameters and lengths, and mining tubes are made in the diameter and length the job needs.
Are refills available?
Refills are available for Rocket Line core bits, allowing a worn crown to be renewed.
