Description
GSPF Clip Spacers are polymer reinforcement spacers that clip onto steel bars and hold them at a set distance from the formwork, so the concrete cover stays consistent while the cage is assembled and the concrete is placed. They are made for horizontal reinforcement in both precast and in-situ work.
The spacers are made by GSPF at its facility in the UAE and are specified to German Performance Class L2 (1 kN). They are available in seven cover sizes, each with a stated range of bar diameters and a standard pack quantity.
Key Features and Benefits
Clip-fit attachment
The clip grips the reinforcement bar directly, which limits movement while the bars are handled and the concrete is poured.
A range of cover sizes
Cover is the distance the spacer maintains between the bar and the concrete face. Sizes run from 20 mm to 75 mm, so the spacer can be matched to the cover specified for the element.
Bar diameter is a separate selection factor
Each cover size is listed with the steel bar diameters it fits. The 20 to 50 mm covers are listed for 6 to 18 mm bars, and the 60 and 75 mm covers for 6 to 20 mm bars.
Load class
GSPF specifies the Clip Spacers to German Performance Class L2 (1 kN), which suits projects that call for a rated spacer.
Applications and Use Cases
Clip Spacers are used for:
- Precast concrete manufacturing, where cover must be repeatable on a production line
- Slabs and beams, as horizontal reinforcement support during placement
- In-situ construction, to prevent rebar displacement during pouring
- Infrastructure works such as bridges, tunnels and foundations
- Industrial and commercial building projects
- Projects that specify L2-rated spacers

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between cover and bar diameter?
Cover is the thickness of concrete between the reinforcement and the surface, which the spacer sets. Bar diameter is the size of the steel bar the spacer clips onto. Both must match the product code.
Which bar sizes do the larger covers take?
The 60 mm and 75 mm covers are listed for 6 to 20 mm bars. The 20 to 50 mm covers are listed for 6 to 18 mm bars.
How are these different from the Heavy-Duty Clip Spacers?
The Heavy-Duty Clip Spacers are a separate product for larger bars, 8 to 32 mm, with covers up to 100 mm. Choose by bar size and cover.
Are they for vertical reinforcement?
Clip Spacers are made for horizontal reinforcement. GSPF makes wheel spacers for vertical reinforcement.
