Description
The Heller Trijet Ultimate SDS-max is the SDS-max version of Heller’s premium multi-cutter. It is built for heavy drilling in concrete and reinforced concrete with SDS-max rotary hammers, where larger diameters and deeper holes are needed.
The head is an embedded solid carbide head with backward-curved cutting edges, designed to cut through reinforcement steel without snagging. A distinctive, patented double-centre point makes spot drilling easy and precise, and a helical design with optimised dust grooves in the head supports drilling dust transport out of the hole.
This is a separate product from the Trijet Ultimate SDS-plus. It has an SDS-max shank and a different size range: 12 to 50 mm in diameter, with working lengths from 200 to 1200 mm. Diameters from 22 mm up are built with multi-piece carbide.
Key Features and Benefits
Head built for reinforcement
The embedded solid carbide head and the backward-curved cutting edges are designed so the bit cuts through reinforcement rather than catching on it, which matters when large holes meet rebar.
Precise starts
The patented double-centre point supports easy, accurate spot drilling on the surface, so larger holes start where they should.
Dust transport in deep holes
The helical design with optimised dust grooves in the head is intended to move drilling dust away from the head, which helps drilling progress in deep holes.
Large diameters and long reach
With diameters up to 50 mm and working lengths up to 1200 mm, the Trijet Ultimate SDS-max suits deep, large-diameter holes that SDS-plus bits are not designed for.
Applications and Use Cases
The Trijet Ultimate SDS-max is suited to drilling in:
- concrete and reinforced concrete
- brickwork, brick and sand lime brick
- marble and natural stone
Typical uses include large-diameter holes for anchors, services penetrations and deep holes in heavily reinforced structures, all with an SDS-max rotary hammer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the SDS-max version in an SDS-plus machine?
No. The SDS-max shank fits SDS-max chucks only. For SDS-plus machines, Heller makes the separate Trijet Ultimate SDS-plus.
What diameters does the SDS-max version cover?
12 to 50 mm. The SDS-plus version covers 5 to 30 mm.
Is it designed for drilling through reinforcement?
Yes. It is designed for concrete and reinforced concrete, with a solid carbide head and backward-curved cutting edges that avoid snagging on reinforcement steel.
Does it extract dust at the drill head?
No. For dust extraction at the drill head, see the Duster Expert SDS-max.
