Description
The Heller Duster Expert SDS-max brings Heller’s extraction drilling to larger holes. It is a hollow hammer drill bit that draws drilling dust away at the drill head when connected to an industrial vacuum, so drilling and dust extraction happen in one step.
It has an SDS-max shank and is made for SDS-max rotary hammers. Diameters run from 14 to 40 mm, all in a single length: 400 mm working length and 600 mm total length. That makes it a bit for deep, large-diameter anchor holes and similar work in concrete and masonry, particularly indoors.
Heller specifies M-class industrial vacuums with a volume flow of at least 40 l/s, connected to the bit through an adapter.
This is a separate product from the Duster Expert SDS-plus, which is made for SDS-plus machines in diameters from 6 to 24 mm.
Key Features and Benefits
Dust taken up at the drill head
Dust is removed where it is created rather than being carried out of the hole, which supports cleaner drilling in interior work.
Fewer steps for chemical anchors
Because the dust is extracted during drilling, less separate hole cleaning is needed before setting a chemical anchor, which saves time on large anchor holes. Final hole preparation must still follow the anchor manufacturer’s instructions.
Fast progress in large holes
Extra large openings at the tip and internal dust routing reduce drilling resistance. The bit is built with a rugged head and shaft for a long service life.
Big diameters, one length
The 14 to 40 mm range with a fixed 400 mm working length keeps selection simple: choose the diameter, and the length is fixed.
Applications and Use Cases
The Duster Expert SDS-max is suited to drilling in:
- concrete, aerated concrete and aerated and porous concrete
- brickwork, brick and sand lime brick
- granite and natural stone
Typical uses include large-diameter holes for chemical anchors, indoor drilling where dust must be controlled, and structural fixing holes. Check the anchor manufacturer’s approval for the drilling method to be used.

Buy Duster Expert SDS-max from Global Source Middle East
Large anchor holes are where dust and hole cleaning cost the most time, and where dust control indoors matters most. The Duster Expert SDS-max extracts dust at the bit, so large-diameter holes are drilled with the dust taken up at the bit.
Buy the Duster Expert SDS-max from Global Source Middle East for anchoring and installation work. Send the diameters you need and the vacuum you will connect, and we will quote the bits with the matching adapter.
Frequently Asked Questions
What machine and vacuum does it need?
An SDS-max rotary hammer, and an M-class industrial vacuum with a volume flow of at least 40 l/s, connected through an adapter. The extraction relies on the vacuum.
What is the difference between the SDS-max and SDS-plus Duster Expert?
They are separate products. The SDS-max version fits SDS-max machines and is made from 14 to 40 mm in a single 400 mm working length. The SDS-plus version fits SDS-plus machines and is made from 6 to 24 mm in shorter lengths.
Does it drill through reinforcement steel?
The Duster Expert is intended for concrete and masonry drilling. Its published material suitability does not include reinforced concrete. For reinforcement, Heller offers the Rebar Breaker SDS-plus.
Is a hole drilled with the Duster Expert ready for the anchor?
Not automatically. Extraction reduces the dust left in the hole, but final hole preparation must follow the anchor manufacturer’s instructions and approvals for the drilling method.
